Description:Kar-Bar
is Barium sulfate (BaSO4) powder. It is an inert material
which fully conforms to either API standard 13A and/or OCMA
specification DFCP-3.It has 4.2 g/cm3 density.
Application:Barite
is used for the weighting of any water, oil or invert drilling fluid
systems.
Recommended
Treatment:Barite is a very pure
grade barium sulfate and thus it is inert and will not cause any
abnormal viscosity increase or other change in the rheological
properties of the mud. The product is readily dispersible, requiring no
special care when mixing into the fluid system.
Packing:It
is packaged in 50 kg or 25kg export paper bags. Big-bags and pallets are
also available.
Description:Kar-Gal
(Galena) is pulverized lead ore with a specific gravity of 6,5.
Application:It is used for making very heavy drilling muds to
overcome abnormally high pressures. It is also used to weight cement
slurries.
Packing: It is packed in 50 kg cloth or PE bags.
Description:It
is ground ilmenite (iron titanate) with 4.58 g/cm3 density.
Application: It is used for weighting the drilling fluids by using
less volume of solids than with barite.
Packing:25
or 50 kg paper bags.
Description:
Kar-Fcl (Ferrochrome-Lignosulfonate) is sodium lignosulfonate. During
the manufacturing process more calcium and sugar (both impurities) are
removed than in most of the other competitive lignosulfonates on the
market. This greatly enhances the effectiveness of Ferrochrome-Lignosulfonate
and for this reason the product is in great demand.
Applications:
Ferrochrome-lignosulfonate is placed under the general classification of
'"mud conditioning agent", in that it functions as a deflocculant and as
a water control agent in water-base mud systems. Its secondary, but
equally important contributions to the "conditioning" of the mud system
is as an emulsifier of diesel oil, as an inhibitor against the swelling
of expanding clays and as a corrosion inhibitor.
It is
an extremely effective mud thinner resistant to 250
oF(121oC).
Recommended
Treatment:For
a "controlled" mud system a concentration of between 8.0 to 10 ppb (22.8
to 28.5 kg/m3) of Ferrochrome-Lignosulfonate is suggested. As
a deflocculant for sea water mud, 4.0 to 6.0 ppb (11.4 to 17.1 kg/m3)
is usually required and, as a deflocculant for fresh water mud systems a
concentration of between 1.0 to 3.0 ppb (2.8 ton 8.5 kg/m3)
is recommended.
Ferrochrome-Lignosulfonate like all other drilling grade
lignosulfonates, is acidic therefore, after each addition it is
necessary to adjust the pH of the mud system to around 8.5 to 9.5. A pH
within this range is important for the complete reaction of the product
in the system.
Packing:Kar-Fcl
is packaged in 25kg export paper bags.
Description:
It is a reddish brown powder of chrome-free lignosulfonate.
Application:It
is a chemical thinner, dispersant and it aids filtration control for
water base fluids.
Packing:
It is packed in 25 or 50 kg paper bags.
Description:It
is granular form, dry sodium tetraphosphate.
Application:It
is a polyphosphate mud thinner. It is an effective dispersing agent for
clays; has little effect on pH of muds.
Packing:25
or 50 kg paper bags.
Description:Kar-Pac
is a polyanionic cellulosic long chain polymer used as a fluid loss
control agent and viscosifier in salt mud. One ton of Kar-Pac will yield
approximately 1500 barrels (or one metric ton will yield 262.9 m3)
of 15 centipose mud in saturated salt water. The product is not subject
to bacterial degradation.
Application:Kar-Pac
is stable at temperatures up to 300oF
(148.9oC). Its
primary application is as a filtrate control agent and as a
supplementary viscosifier in salt water mud systems. The addition of
Flosal in a concentration of 2.5 to 5.0 ppb (7 to 14 kg/m3)
to the system will enhance the hole cleaning characteristics of Kar-Pac.
Recommended Treatment:Kar-Pac,
due to its extremely high viscosity yield, is an excellent product to
use to formulate low solids drilling fluids in fresh water.
To
prepare a low solids fresh water drilling fluid, 0.5 to 1.0 ppb (1.4 to
2.85 kg/m3)
is recommended.
As a
fluid loss control agent and viscosifier in salt water systems, 1.0 to
2.0 ppb (2.85 to 5.7 kg/m3) is suggested.
Packing:Kar-Pac
is packaged in 25 kg multi-wall bags.
